Ongoing Monitoring and Maintenance
The ongoing community wide monitoring and maintenance plans shall comply with Broward County such that:
- Catch basin grates, manhole covers and outfalls are to be free of obstructions
- Each catch basin shall be probed for mud, debris, silt, etc. The depth of materials in the pipe shall not exceed 5% of the diameter of the pipe and the depth of materials in a sump shall not exceed 4% of the distance from the bottom of the structure to the lowest pipe invert.
- Check headwalls for deterioration and repair where appropriate
- Check for broken grates and repair where appropriate
- Check weirs and baffle proper installation
- Check for areas of sunken or deteriorated pavement, inspect and repair as needed
- Check for modifications to swales and retention areas (ongoing maintenance often inadvertently alters the original design intention)
- Check flumes
- Check, report, and repair alterations to original design of drainage system
- Check for landscaping which may have been planted or grown over drainage pipes
- Perform required maintenance and repairs to drainage system
- Verify any modifications with current district requirements
